This is a work where above and below meet with little contrast, the very thin layer of green paint is applied in such a way that it wavers somewhat, creating an effect reminiscent of water or movement.  The effect is increased here by the light source coming from above, but even in darker light it can be seen. The color combination of purple and green is an unusual one, usually considered to be somewhat disruptive, though here it is held in what I consider to be a peaceful tension.  An artist friend once told me, whatever you do, Amy, never use purple. Purple never sells  ;-).
