basic recipe
For a normal cup of cocoa of ~200ml we use 20g of cocoa. Milk, milk substitute or water can be added as desired. In South and Central America, cocoa is traditionally drunk with water. For a more intense experience, try adding 24g of cocoa to the same amount of liquid. We like to take cold liquid and heat it up with a milk frother. For everyone without a milk frother: Heat the liquid to 70°C and stir until the cocoa has dissolved.
Tip: 70°C has been reached when a metal jug or glass can hardly be touched. If water has been boiled, simply let it cool for 5 minutes.
The spices
When the cacao is ready, these ingredients can be added in small amounts to taste: chilli powder, cayenne pepper, cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, MCT oil, coconut oil, salt (yes even that), coconut blossom sugar.
